Herb Pharm Dandelion Extract

Herb Pharm prepares Dandelion extract from fresh (never dried) whole Certified Organic Taraxacum officinale plants (root, leaf and flower) grown on their own farms in southern Oregon. The plants are grown in neat rows, harvested each spring and often have taproots over a foot in length. To assure optimal extraction of the herb’s bioactive compounds, the plants are hand-harvested while in full flower and then promptly extracted while still fresh and succulent.

The herb is extracted in small batches with Certified Organic cane alcohol for potency and to maintain the balance of phytochemicals as they exist in the plant. Herb Pharm assures herb identity via macroscopic and organoleptic analysis, then confirms it through methods such as HPTLC fingerprinting specific to each herb. The formula is easily dispensed, taken in liquid form and added to water or other liquid.

Dandelions, often dismissed as weeds, are a nutritional powerhouse with numerous health benefits. Rich in vitamins A, C, and K, as well as minerals like iron, calcium, and potassium, dandelions support overall wellness. Their high antioxidant content, particularly from polyphenols and beta-carotene, helps combat oxidative stress, reducing inflammation and potentially lowering the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease and cancer. Dandelion greens also aid digestion by stimulating appetite and promoting bile production, which enhances nutrient absorption. Additionally, their diuretic properties can help flush toxins from the body, supporting kidney function and reducing water retention.
Beyond their nutritional profile, dandelions have been used in traditional medicine for centuries to support liver health and regulate blood sugar. The root contains inulin, a prebiotic fiber that nourishes gut bacteria, fostering a healthy microbiome. This can improve digestion and boost immunity. Dandelion extracts may also help stabilize blood sugar levels by improving insulin sensitivity, making them a potential ally for managing diabetes. Furthermore, their anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties may support skin health, aiding in the treatment of conditions like acne or eczema. Incorporating dandelion greens, roots, or teas into a balanced diet can provide a natural, holistic boost to bodily functions.
