HTMA Hair Mineral Analysis

 HTMA Overview

Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA)

If you’ve been doing the right things but still don’t feel like your body is restoring, there is usually a reason. A non-invasive mineral blueprint can reveal patterns in stress, adrenal output, thyroid signaling, and detox capacity — helping explain why progress has stalled and what your system may actually need next.

Many people arrive here after trying multiple approaches that haven’t fully resolved their symptoms. In most cases, it’s not a lack of effort — and not a lack of testing — but that the underlying pattern hasn’t been clearly identified. HTMA can help reveal those patterns, but the value is not in the test itself — it’s in how the results are interpreted and applied.

For educational and wellness purposes only. HTMA does not diagnose disease or replace medical care.

Why Start With HTMA

Your Mineral Blueprint Before Detox

Minerals are the “spark plugs” of the body. They drive energy production, hormone balance, detoxification, and nervous system resilience. HTMA gives us a long-view map of how your body has been adapting to stress, so we can decide whether to rebuild, gently open drainage, or move into deeper detox.

Long-Term Insight

HTMA reflects roughly 8–12 weeks of mineral activity, revealing chronic patterns that a single blood test can’t see.

Stress & Hormone Patterns

Key ratios (like sodium/potassium and calcium/magnesium) offer clues about adrenal output, thyroid stress, and nervous system load.

Detox Readiness

By viewing mineral reserves and toxic metals together, we can see whether your system is ready for deeper detox or needs foundational support first.

What HTMA Looks At

What HTMA Measures

Essential Minerals

Calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, zinc, copper, manganese, chromium, selenium and more — the minerals that govern energy, mood, and structure.

Mineral Ratios

Ratios like Ca/Mg, Na/K, Ca/K, and Zn/Cu help us understand adrenal drive, thyroid trends, blood sugar balance, and stress adaptation.

Toxic Metals

Patterns of mercury, aluminum, lead, cadmium and others — with emphasis on how your body may be storing or excreting them.

Metabolic Type & Stress Load

Gives clues about how “fast” or “slow” your system is running, how it handles stress, and where to support energy without overwhelming you.

Where Most People Get Stuck

Hair mineral analysis can provide useful information, but by itself it does not create clarity. Many people receive results showing multiple imbalances, ratios, or elevated elements, but are still left without a clear understanding of what matters most or what to do next.

This often leads to conflicting recommendations, overly aggressive protocols, or trying to address everything at once. In many cases, the issue is not the test — it’s the lack of clear interpretation and direction.

This is why testing alone rarely moves people forward — and why interpretation and direction matter more than the data itself.

Is This For You?

HTMA Is Especially Helpful If You

  • Struggle with fatigue, burnout, or wired-but-tired patterns
  • Have thyroid or adrenal concerns (diagnosed or suspected)
  • React strongly to supplements or detox protocols
  • Have a history of environmental, chemical, or mold exposure
  • Experience brain fog, mood changes, or sleep disturbances
  • Want data before beginning a deeper detox or rebuilding program

What This Can Help You Understand

Many people come to this after trying multiple approaches that did not fully resolve their symptoms.

This is not about finding one perfect marker or one number out of range.
It is about identifying patterns in how your body has been responding over time.

HTMA may help clarify:

What This Can Look Like

For example, someone may come in thinking they need more detox support because of fatigue or brain fog. But when the full pattern is considered, it may become clear their system is already under strain — meaning pushing detox would likely worsen symptoms rather than improve them.

In cases like this, the focus shifts toward rebuilding capacity first, which changes both the approach and the outcome.

This is often the point where people realize they’ve been doing the right things — just in the wrong order.

• Why your energy feels inconsistent or depleted

• Why stress affects you more than it used to

• Why symptoms shift or do not follow a clear pattern

• Why previous approaches may not have fully worked

• What direction makes sense based on your physiology

HTMA offers a different lens — one that looks at relationships and patterns rather than isolated results.

Not sure which option is right for you? If you’re new to HTMA or navigating complex patterns, the full interpretation package is usually the best fit.
The Process

How HTMA Works, Step by Step

The entire process is done at home — no needles, no office visit. Just a small hair sample, a lab, and a clear plan.

Step 1

Choose your HTMA option and complete your order.

Step 2

Receive your hair collection kit in the mail with simple instructions.

Step 3

Collect a small hair sample from the back of your head and mail it to the lab.

Step 4

Once results are ready, you receive your TEI report and, if selected, schedule your consultation.

Lab turnaround is typically 10–14 business days after your sample arrives. You’ll receive an email with next steps as soon as your results are in.

Still Not Getting Clear Answers? This Is Where to Start

If you are trying to decide whether HTMA is appropriate — or how to use it without creating more confusion — this is the best place to start. The value is not in the test alone, but in understanding what the patterns mean and what to do next.

If you're unsure which option is right, start with interpretation — this is where the clarity comes from.

Frequently Asked About HTMA

Click a question below to expand the answer.

What is HTMA and why is it important?

Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) is a non-invasive laboratory test that measures the mineral content and metabolic activity found in a small sample of hair. It reveals long-term trends in mineral balance, stress response, adrenal function, thyroid patterns, blood sugar stability, and hidden toxic metal accumulation. HTMA provides insights that standard blood tests often miss.

What does the HTMA report include?

Your analysis includes a detailed mineral profile, ratios that indicate adrenal and thyroid function, energy production patterns, stress chemistry, and potential toxic metal exposure. If you choose the interpretation session package, you also receive a personalized protocol outlining minerals, diet, lifestyle, and drainage support recommendations.

How do I collect my hair sample?

You will receive a simple at-home collection kit with clear instructions. Only a small amount of hair (approximately one teaspoon) is required, cut close to the scalp from the back of the head. Colored or treated hair is acceptable as long as the most recent growth closest to the scalp is used.

How long does it take to get results?

Once your hair sample is mailed to the lab, results typically take about 2–3 weeks to process. As soon as your HTMA results are ready, you’ll receive your report by email, and if you’ve booked an interpretation session, we’ll schedule your consult to review everything together.

Who is HTMA especially helpful for?

HTMA is especially helpful if you’ve struggled with chronic fatigue, burnout, brain fog, sleep issues, hormone shifts, slow or stalled detox, sensitivity to supplements, or a long history of stress. It’s also a powerful tool before starting deeper detox protocols so we can see how your system has been coping and where to support it first.

What’s the difference between “Test Only” and HTMA + Consult, and can I upgrade later?

The “Test Only” option gives you your HTMA lab report and basic lab comments from the lab. The HTMA + Consult option includes your lab report plus a private interpretation session with me, where we walk through the patterns, connect them to your symptoms, and create a personalized protocol and next steps. If you start with “Test Only” and later decide you want my help, you can upgrade to an interpretation session for an additional fee.
